Company Profile

Newman Company was founded in the fall of 2001. It’s mission is to establish and maintain a deliver high standard of service for group and individual insurance clients, with a special focus on providing the full spectrum of brokerage and administrative services for small to mid sized municipal and corporate entities.

The company founder, Tom Newman, began his career in insurance services in early 1991, as sales executive for JJ Newman Company, a leader in the public school insurance market in New York. Working in all areas of the firm, he was named Chief Executive Officer in 1996. He acted in that capacity, overseeing the firm, with over 130 employees, until the company’s sale and subsequent merger in 1999.

Presently Newman Company delivers high value service to more than a dozen public entities, including dental and medical claims services for more than 25,000 covered members and dependents.

The company is licensed in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Texas and Florida. Most recent growth has focused on an expansion in the area of managed dental plans and individual insurance planning. In addition to delivering the full range of insured and self funded benefit plans, Newman can also act as independent consultant, producing requests for proposal and evaluating responses to those requests. Newman is licensed as a consultant in New York State.

Newman Company is located in Franklin Square, NY, minutes from the New York City border, all major highways and mass transportation options.
